2015

The group gathered at the Al Aqsa Islamic Society on the 1500 block of Germantown Avenue around 2 p.m. They then walked to the Village of the Arts and Humanities on 2544 Germantown Avenue shortly after 4 p.m. and to the West Kensington Ministries on the 2100 block of N. Hancock Street around 5:30 p.m. where the event ended with a meal. The theme this year was;

"Reclaiming the Earth, Repairing the World"

 

The theme was about finding ways people can help create peace as an alternative to violence and finding sustainable ways to treat the environment.

The Peace Walk featured participants of different cultures, religions and faith traditions, including Muslims, Christians, Jews, Sikhs, Hindus, Buddhists, Bahá'ís and secularists. Attendees visited different houses of worship while engaging in conversation, singing, praying and reflecting.
